I hope you don't mind, but I have a few questions! Sorry if you've gotten these already. How long have you been drawing? Do you have formal training, or are you self taught? What would you say is the most difficult thing about learning, and how would you suggest one gets through that?

I don’t mind!
Um, I’ve been drawing things for as long as I can remember, but it’s been only in these past 3 years that I’ve tried to make something of it. I didn’t take any classes or anything, and learned most all of what I know from browsing the internet and seeing what other people have done. I think what I learned from the most was John K’s blog. It’s not very well organized, and you’ll have to take his opinions with a grain of salt, but it’s what taught me how to teach myself how to draw.
I’d say the -hardest- thing is building up confidence in your own work, but I’d say the most IMPORTANT things to learn is how to draw solid forms, and how to balance shapes to create appealing design. I’m still working on this myself, but I learn a lot by studying/copying classic illustrators and cartoonists.
